A colagem analógica desenvolvida para a capa da primeira edição da Revista Bibiana reflete visualmente o caráter múltiplo, afetivo e político da publicação. Produzida de forma manual, a imagem evoca uma estética de montagem que dialoga com o conteúdo da revista, um espaço onde se cruzam artigos, ensaios, contos e poemas criados no contexto da graduação em Letras da UFBA.

A composição traz camadas de texturas, fragmentos de corpos, folhagens e tecidos, criando relações visuais entre memória, território e ancestralidade. O uso do preto e branco junto a tons terrosos e verdes imprime um ritmo poético e orgânico, sugerindo conexões entre o natural e o humano, o íntimo e o coletivo. Os recortes de imagens de pessoas negras e elementos vegetais costuram temas como identidade, presença e permanência, sem recorrer a soluções ilustrativas diretas, deixando espaço para que o olhar do leitor construa sentidos próprios.

Mais do que ilustrar, a colagem atua como um campo visual aberto à interpretação, em sintonia com o espírito da Bibiana: uma revista que nasce como território de escuta, experimentação e afirmação de outras formas de narrar, pensar e criar saberes.

The analog collage created for the cover of the first edition of Revista Bibiana visually reflects the publication’s multiple, affective, and political character. Manually produced, the image evokes a montage aesthetic that resonates with the magazine’s content, a space where articles, essays, short stories, and poems converge, all created within the undergraduate context of the Letters program at UFBA.

The composition features layers of textures, body fragments, foliage, and fabrics, creating visual connections between memory, territory, and ancestry. The use of black and white alongside earthy and green tones brings a poetic and organic rhythm, suggesting links between the natural and the human, the intimate and the collective. Cut-out images of Black individuals and vegetal elements weave together themes such as identity, presence, and continuity, without relying on direct illustrative solutions, allowing space for the reader’s gaze to build their own interpretations.

More than mere illustration, the collage functions as a visual field open to interpretation, in tune with Bibiana’s spirit: a magazine that emerges as a space for listening, experimentation, and the affirmation of alternative ways of narrating, thinking, and creating knowledge.
